TMCF-DSU Joint Center for HBCU Non-Traditional Completion
Welcome to the TMCF-DSU Joint Center for HBCU Non-Traditional Completion!
Joint Center Mission
Our mission is to bolster Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in their efforts to re-enroll, support, and educate students who have temporarily stopped out of their academic journey, empowering them to earn their degrees and achieve their educational goals.
At the TMCF-DSU Joint Center, we recognize the importance of providing a supportive environment for students who may have faced obstacles or challenges along their educational path. We believe that every student deserves the opportunity to complete their degree and unlock their full potential.
Through collaboration with HBCUs, we aim to implement innovative strategies and programs tailored to the unique needs of non-traditional students. Whether it’s providing academic advising, financial assistance, or career counseling, our goal is to ensure that colleges and university have the resources and support they need to succeed.
Join us in our mission to empower HBCU students to overcome barriers, fulfill their academic aspirations, and become leaders in their communities. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of non-traditional students and help them reach their fullest potential.
How We Got Here
The TMCF and DSU embarked on a transformative journey through a 3-year pilot program, generously supported by the Kresge Foundation and the Ascendium Education Group. This innovative initiative aimed to identify, cultivate, re-enroll, support, and provide online courses for students at DSU who had paused their academic pursuits. Throughout the process, TMCF and DSU collaborated closely, identifying a robust set of best practices beneficial for both HBCUs and the students they serve.
What We Do
The TMCF-DSU Joint Center for HBCU Non-Traditional Completion is committed to empowering other HBCUs to enhance their capacity in outreach, cultivation, re-enrollment, support, and provision of online courses through shared services. Our partnership with TMCF and DSU extends beyond mere assistance; we offer tangible support, including purchasing capacity in the short term and providing direct capacity-building assistance and best practice sharing for sustainable, long-term programming.
